A. Terms & Conditions for Competitions
1. Entry is only open to UK residents aged 18 or over. If you are using your work computer you may need to obtain your employer’s permission prior to entering. The winner[s] will need to be able to provide proof of identity and age.
2.  Entries to the Competition should be made on the official electronic entry form. If the nomination is made in writing, please request a paper entry form and return to: Smarter Travel Awards, Transport for London, Palestra 11G3, 197 Blackfriars Rd, London SE1 8NJ. Any entry which is incomplete, illegible or defaced will be rejected. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of entry and no responsibility will be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post.
3. By submitting a nomination electronically you indicate your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Transport for London shall not be responsible for late, lost or delayed entries or network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind that may delay or restrict entry into the competition.
4. There is no limit to the number of entries which may be made.
5.  The entries entered on paper will not be returned.
6.  Transport for London owns the copyright of all entries and information submitted electronically or on paper on.
7. The Competition begins on 09 March 2010 and runs until 23:59 on 10 May 2010.  Entries to the Competition must be received no later than 10 May 2010.
8. Two of the 12 winners will be determined by public vote. Only one vote per person per entry is allowed and will be controlled via appropriate systems. Excess votes will be disqualified. Any attempt by individuals or others to make multiple votes or otherwise attempt to manipulate the voting system will result in all such votes being disqualified.
9. Publication of any material submitted will be at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to make additions or deletions to the text or graphics prior to publication.
10. By accepting these terms and conditions entrants warrant that their entry is all their own work and does not include anything that is owned by a third party or would require the consent of a third party.
11. Shortlisted individuals will be notified by phone and email by 7 June 2010. The names and organisations of winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 24 June 2010 and shortly thereafter be posted on the website. Winners will receive a trophy at the awards ceremony on 24 June 2010.
12. Entry into the Competition implies acceptance of these terms and conditions. Transport for London reserves the right to refuse to award prizes to anyone found to be in breach of these terms and conditions.
13.  The Promoter of the competition is Transport for London of Palestra 197 Blackfriars Rd London SE1 8NJ.  The judges’ decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. There is no cash alternative to prizes.
